So here's what's up with Diablo showing up in heaven. Basically, the forces of hell were able to make it to that landing strip area outside of the Diamond Gate a few times throughout history, but because of in-fighting, and the general badassness of Imperius, they were never able to break through the Diamond Gate. Now that Diablo has the power of all 7 evils in 1 nice container, he was able to go all Super Saiyan on that gate and break it down.
